The next few weeks we will be working on Favorite Stories.  On Monday, we read, If You Give a Moose a Muffin.  The children had GREAT fun making muffins! These guys are just too cute!

First you have to get all of your ingredients together.

Then you have to put on your apron, which is not always easy...

Then you line the muffin tin with paper liners,,,,

And then you dump the muffin mix into a large bowl,,,,

To make muffins you need milk and eggs.  We discussed where these ingredients come from, cows and chickens,  :)

Now the fun begins!  I had a lot of muffin mix so everyone got a chance to add ingredients and to stir.

And then you wait,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,

And so, while you wait for the muffins to cook, you clean up!

And finally, when they have cooled down....you get to eat them!

On Wednesday, we read Pete the Cat and his Four Groovy Buttons.  Pete the cat lost all of the buttons on his shirt.  Then he discovers that he has one button left, his belly button!  The children really liked this book and the song that went with it.

Some down time, reading fun.....

On Friday, we had a special treat, Jack Hartman came to sing for us.  We had a great time learning news songs with him!

Wow!  What a week!  See you Monday!

We had a GREAT week!  It was good to be back together.  We continued to talk about Nursery Rhymes.  This week we worked on Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star.  The children seemed to enjoy painting AND glitter!

When the stars dried, I hung them on our bulletin board.  Everyone was so excited about their stars, that they wanted to take them home, so they came home today in the backpack!

Since we had Picture Day on Friday, we took a break from art projects.  I got out some news toys and boy did they have fun!  Who knew that bowls on your head could be so much fun?

Of course, the bowls were meant for something else, but what imaginations?

Speaking of imagination.......What can you do with large blocks?  A train, perhaps? Or just a fun place to sit!  Too Cute!

What joy!  I love it!

Have a great weekend!  Stay dry!

This was a short week for us but we managed to get in quite a bit of activities!

We are talking about Nursery Rhymes this week and next.  On Monday, we talked about The Three Little Kittens and on Wednesday we talked about Baa, Baa Black Sheep.  We used finger plays and art to reinforce the Nursery Rhyme.

I brought in a special treat for our snack on Wednesday.  It was some one's birthday :)

We have a new friend joining us on Wednesday.  Her name is Nico and she has just moved back from New Zealand!

Have a GREAT weekend!  I'm off to see my Gators play!
