This past week we read the story, My Friend Bear. It is a story about a boy and a bear that meet in the woods.  They both have teddy bears but are looking for a friend.  You guessed it, they found each other!  We talked about being friends with each other at school.  The children worked on a two day project connected with this story.  One day they painted brown and later in the week, they added  facial features, a Friendly Bear!

On Wednesday, we went to Chapel.  The children did a great job!  We have front row seats, so they can all see everything that is going on.

On Wednesday, the children made "Friendship" bracelets. The idea being that the children would share their colored straws with each other.  Evidently, most of them were completely satisfied to make a bracelet in one color!  Too funny!

The children also went to Music class for the first time this week.  The children will be learning Chapel songs.  They also got to use some rhythm instruments.

After a rainy start to the school year, we finally got out on the playground.

This week we will read a story about The Spiffiest Giant in Town.  A giant buys new clothes only to find his friends need some of his new things more then he does. A great story on sharing.

We had a great week getting to know each other. The children have done very well adjusting to new routines and getting to know one another.  I look forward to a great year with them. You will see in these photos the children are mostly involved in independent play. As the children become more comfortable with school and one another, you will see more cooperative play.
