We are now working on "Favorite Stories".  On Monday, the children made muffins and we read, If You Give a Moose a Muffin.  I think you can see that they enjoyed mixing the muffins and eating the results!  We read the instructions and everyone took turns adding the milk and stirring.  We had to add eggs and that was an interesting discussion.  What shape is the egg? What color is the inside of the egg? Where do eggs come from?

On Wednesday, I read them the story Silly Sally.  "Silly Sally went to town, walking backwards and upside down!"  The children created some silly faces.  They are working on fine motor skills when they thread the pipe cleaners on to the plate. And they worked on spatial relation, when putting the face on.  I think they came out GREAT!

Some classroom fun working on shapes and colors.

We started off last week celebrating a birthday!

Last week, the children learned two Nursery Rhymes, Jack Be Nimble and The 3 Little Kittens.

The Jack Be Nimble project involved learning how to use glue sticks. They were trying to place the pieces in the correct order as well.

The children used water colors to paint their mitten, from The 3 Little Kitten Nursery Rhyme.

Last week, I introduced a new toy, large waffle blocks.  The children have had a great time creating roads!

On Friday, we enjoyed singing along with Jack Hartman!

See you all on Monday!

This month we will be learning Nursery Rhymes and exploring Silly Stories.

On Wednesday, we sang Baa, Baa Black Sheep and the children sponge painted black sheep.

On Friday, we sang Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star. The children painted stars and added glitter!

Hope you had a great weekend!

Don't forget, Saturday, September 17th, is the Preschool Parent Social. The social will be held at the St. Petersburg Shuffle Board Club, 7:00 pm, parents only.  It is a lot of fun!
