Finger painting was sooo much fun! I love the different facial expressions the children made.

On Wednesday, the children worked on fall leaves.

Friday, was Turkey Day!!!! The children used a sponge brush to create "feathers".

Clean up can be fun too!

The children were involved in many activities this week, including play dough and stamps.

This is the "duplo" corn the children made.

We (me included!) had so much fun with the drums on Monday!!!! The children did very well listening to the instructor.  He told the children a story about animals. Every animal was represented by a different way to play your drum.  He taught them soft (decrescendo) and loud (crescendo) and stop!  The children got to pick out what instrument they wanted to play.

On Wednesday, the children made owls.  Whoo's Ready for Fall?

First they had to crumple up newspaper and then stuff a paper bag.  Next they glued on eyes and beaks and wings.  Scarlett noted that the owls needed feet, so we also added feet!  I think she had a great idea!

We talked about shapes, round eyes, triangle beaks.  Nocturnal was a new word for them! Owls stay up at night!

They came out pretty cute, wouldn't you say? Whoooo wouldn't like these?

The children found something new in the sensory table this week, fall leaves! Since we don't really have many fall leaves in Florida, we had to improvise.  The table was filled with silk leaves, some plastic bugs and magnifying glasses.  This activity kept them very busy! 

One of my favorite comments was, "We need to call this bugs mommy"  Being the curious sort that I am, I asked  "Why do we need to call this bugs mommy?"  "Because he doesn't feel well"   Well, of course, what was I thinking?  Moms, you are pretty important.....
