We had a short week last week.  We got started on a new unit, Things Out West, including cowboys. cowgirls, panning for gold, cactus, rodeos...... Lots of new things to talk about!  :)

Of course, we are always playing and working on things at the same time, like shapes and colors, building and problem solving.

I told the children about "panning for gold" and how the miners out west would look for gold.  So at our sand table, we panned for gold! Notice the miner picture on the wall.

We also worked on making a sheriff star. Paint AND glitter!  Oh my!

Last week we had a "Scientist" come to school and show us some experiments.  It was a lot of fun! We did not get to participate, but you may recognize Rebecca's brother**** as one of the volunteers.

For the most part, we were pretty attentive :)

We finished up our unit on all things cold by making snowman treats.  We also stuffed a snowman for our room and we had various snowman matching activities.

We started to work on Valentine decorations, including mixing red and white paint to make pink.  Some where more enthusiastic then others :)

More Valentine themed activities.

Some random photos of busy children. Notice the independent or parallel play, very typical for this age group.
