The children continued to work on bugs last week.  They are painting caterpillars.

Water color flowers...

Frogs.... do they sink or float?

What's in the garden?  The children found lots of activities in the classroom the last two weeks, to help them learn about flowers and bugs. The children found "dirt" in the sensory table, bug matching games and a toy that helps you learn the parts of the flower.

We read the story, Flower Garden by Eve Bunting. It is a story about a little girl that plants a flower box for her mother, for her birthday.  The children enjoyed planting our very own flower box.

Since we are talking about gardens, the children were asked to choose a color to paint a flower.  We then displayed them on our bulletin board.

We read the story, Planting a Rainbow, by Lois Ehlert. The children created a flower bouquet.

 More fun with bugs.....

The children tried making  "potato" prints. They will eventually turn into lady bugs!

I love to watch them build.  Such great imaginations!

Notice the cupcake?
