This is a picture of the finger paint art that some of the children did last week.  They turned out to be cute turkeys!

The children made pumpkin pie art.

Something new in our sensory table. Leaves and bugs!  :)

We read many Thanksgiving books the past few weeks including:

And a favorite that was requested over and over......

I changed some of the words  ")

On Wednesday, the children got to snap green beans!  I talked with the children about snapping the "stems" off  and then snapping the beans in half and putting them in the pot.  They went through 2 pounds of green beans in about 15 minutes!
If you need help preparing the Thanksgiving meal, you know who to call!

I washed the beans and then we took the pot to the big kitchen to cook while we played outside on the playground.  Later in the morning, after the beans had cooled down, we sampled some .  I'd say the reaction was mixed.  :)

On Wednesday, the children also made an "apple pie" snack.  They were each given a graham cracker in a baggie, that they had to crush.  Then I gave them some cooked apples in a cup and they added their crushed graham cracker. Finally, I topped it off with whipped cream, hmmm....
The whipped cream was a BIG hit and there were many requests for seconds on the whipped cream!

On Friday, the children enjoyed a special Thanksgiving treat.
Thank you Avery for the turkey cookies and the fun hats!

Our corn field, as promised from last week.

The children continued to work on fall decorations.  First they worked on making a leaf wreath.

I had the children make fall leaves with dry tempera paint. It was a fun activity and the finished products came out just great!

Pretty!

Friday, the children tried some finger painting.  Some of the children were tenuous at first, but soon they got the hang of it!

Some classroom fun.........

This week, more Thanksgiving fun, including snapping green beans!
