We finished off our farm theme by making bunnies.

The children dyed Easter Eggs this week using Kool-Aid!  It was fun and smelled sooo good! We used cherry, orange and pink lemonade Kool-Aid.

A new toy....what fun!

Easter snack, it was delicious!  Thank you Maren's mom!

Easter Egg Hunt... It went fast!

I hope that you all have a Blessed Easter and a great Spring Break!

This week, the children worked on making baby chicks.  They had a practice paper where they could use the sponge as much as they wanted and then we tried to get just three. They finished them up by gluing on  eyes and a beak. I put their initial up on the art work so they could pick out their chicks.

I added plastic eggs and tongs to the sensory table this week.  We decided that the tongs looked like scissors, but they can't cut, they looked like spoons , but you can't eat with them and that they looked like bunny ears. Whatever the case, they were fun to use to try and pick up the eggs!

Easter egg wreaths and a stained glass cross.

We had another birthday!

Happy St Patrick's Day!  See you on Monday!

We are now talking about farm animals in our classroom. We have already read several books on farm animals. Some of the farm animal books involve counting the animals which is always fun! We have lots of farm animals in the classroom from puzzles to matching games to small animals to count and sort.

This week we talked about pigs and why they like to get in the mud!  Do you know why they like to get in the mud?  It keeps them cool and keeps them from getting sunburned!  The children used shaving cream and paint to "muddy up" their pigs.  As you can see, some of them enjoyed getting muddy and some did not!

Today, the children worked on making woolly sheep.  It's one time when you need to use a LOT of glue!  Squeeze the glue on and spread it around!  Usually, we are telling them "No too much glue".
It's also a great activity to build hand muscles so that down the road they can hold a pencil and use scissors. There is a purpose to our play! :)
