This past week we started our unit on the West. On Wednesday, the children "discovered" gold in the sensory table. I explained to them how the people out west would pan for gold. On Friday the children worked on making a Sheriff Star.

The children found some new items in the room this week.  Horses and cowboy/girl hats, and a few new things to peak their interest. :)

 Pre-writing skills.....and fun too!

This week the children will be learning the first letter of their name. I will be telling them about how the ranchers can tell which cow is theirs by the brand or letter on the cow.  The children will also be decorating cowboy boots. Yi haa!

Last week the children kept busy with Valentine activities, including making "Love Bugs".  They also exchanged Valentines with each other and enjoyed a great Valentine snack!
