This is going to be another jammed packed full of fun blog this week!  It covers 2 weeks of fun!

I put some Halloween items in the sensory table. Pumpkins and little Halloween buckets. The children always seem to enjoy this table.

We read the story, "Go Away Big Green Monster"  and the children made green monsters.  You will notice that they had to blend blue and yellow paint to get green paint.

Some exploring time....

We had fun carving our pumpkin.  I asked the children what they thought was inside.  Seeds!  They guessed correctly.  Some children enjoyed scooping out the seeds and pulp, others were satisfied to just observe. :)  We discussed the features of the pumpkin, bumpy skin, round shape, color, the stem where it was attached to the vine...even the bottom that had a button shape like a belly button!

After they got the pumpkin all cleaned I carved it.  We had a lot of discussion about what a
Jack O Lantern would need.  2 eyes, 1 nose, a mouth, sharp teeth and even ears! We discussed the shapes that I was cutting.  He came out pretty, well I think. :)

Candy Corn Art

Whoo's ready for Halloween?

   WE ARE!

What a fun day we had on Friday! I thought they looked soooo cute in their t-shirts!

The children decorated cookies with icing and sprinkles. Yum!

The children enjoyed a new experience....oobleck!  It is hard and soft at the same time, really cool!  Lots of fine motor skills at work here.  :)

We also had a really fun ring toss game!

Some times you just have to get on top of things!

Hope you all had a great Halloween!

On Monday the children will start working on fall leaves and Thanksgiving!
