We eased into the week with some corn cob painting.  They children rolled Indian corn in red, yellow and orange paint.  Their painting was cut into corn shapes and husks were added to make a great bulletin board display of a cornfield.  This activity required the children to concentrate on which way to tilt the box in order to get the corn cob to roll the correct way.

I will post a picture of their "corn field" next week.  :)

The children have been very busy playing and sometimes they feel the need to dress up in order to get the mood just right.

We got a new broom!

On Friday, we had a drummer come to school and we ALL got to participate!  It was so much fun!  The children learned to "echo" beat patterns and learned to count down to stop.  They even got to dance!  I saw plenty of smiles in the room while this show was going on!

They did very well waiting for the instructions.  So tempting!

And then.......they were told to start drumming!

And then......dancing!

I think I need a faster shutter speed for my camera!  :)
