On Monday, I cut into a pumpkin so the children could see what was inside.

SEEDS!  LOTS of SEEDS!

We had a very big pumpkin! It had a big stem.

First I cut the top off of the pumpkin, so the children could peek in..

Then, we started to pull the seeds out! At first they were hesitant to touch the seeds and pulp, but soon they really got into it! The children were putting the seeds in a container for me so I could take the seeds home and roast them.  Hmmm!

After they had removed all of the seeds and pulp, I started to carve a Jack-O-Lantern.  We used triangle shapes for the eyes and nose. We gave it a silly grin. Of course when I was done carving the pumpkin, the children decided that the top had to go back on. I think you can see, they were pleased with the results.

Now we have 2 pumpkins in our room!

Dressing up for Halloween was great fun! They visited several classrooms and the preschool office to show off their costumes.

More Halloween activities. These items were my boys when they were growing up. They are chicken nugget figures from Mc Donald Happy Meals.

And of course our Halloween fun day would not be complete without a special Halloween snack! the children enjoyed apples, cheese and crackers, ghost bananas and Cake pops!   Thank you Zoey!

After all the activities this week, we took it easy on Friday.  We had two friends from Mrs. Silk's class join us for playtime.

This week we will start learning about leaves changing colors and get ready for some turkey fun!   Thanksgiving is coming!
