Today will be our last day of "school".  I look forward to seeing you today when you drive by to pick up your artwork.  I had a great time with you this year, even though it was shorter than normal.  You have all grown so very much!! You are becoming quite independent and my wish is that you continue to be independent and stay curious.  There is so much out there to learn!

I miss seeing you so much.  I look forward to seeing you in the fall when we are on campus again but with our new classes!

I will post one more blog tomorrow as a bonus, it will be full of all sorts of fun activities that you can try with your families this summer.  For now, let's learn about hermit crabs!

The hermit crab is a type of crab that does not have a hard shell. They use old shells for protection. This hermit crab is hiding inside his shell to stay safe.

This hermit crab is walking on the sand with the shell on his back.

Hermit crabs are omnivores (eating plants and animals). They typically eat worms, plankton, and plants. This hermit crab is eating mango.

A hermit crab has ten legs. The front two have claws on them, which the crab uses to walk. The rear pair of legs is used to grasp onto the crab’s shell.

A hermit crab’s color varies from red to brown to purple. Some species also have stripes, dots, or other patterns.

Can you pretend to live in a shell? Try going in and out of a hula hoop. While your preschooler is likely too young to be able to hula hoop, they can still have a lot of fun with one. Have her jump in and out of one, hold a couple together as a tunnel, or even teach your preschooler how to "drive" with one. Art -
