We are now talking about farm animals in our classroom. We have already read several books on farm animals. Some of the farm animal books involve counting the animals which is always fun! We have lots of farm animals in the classroom from puzzles to matching games to small animals to count and sort.

This week we talked about pigs and why they like to get in the mud!  Do you know why they like to get in the mud?  It keeps them cool and keeps them from getting sunburned!  The children used shaving cream and paint to "muddy up" their pigs.  As you can see, some of them enjoyed getting muddy and some did not!

Today, the children worked on making woolly sheep.  It's one time when you need to use a LOT of glue!  Squeeze the glue on and spread it around!  Usually, we are telling them "No too much glue".
It's also a great activity to build hand muscles so that down the road they can hold a pencil and use scissors. There is a purpose to our play! :)
