On Monday we read, Planting a Rainbow by Lois Ehlert.  It is a story about planting spring bulbs and seeds and ending up with a rainbow of colorful flowers.

The children then painted their own "rainbow" of flowers.  They got to choose the color they wanted to use and which type of sponge they wanted to paint with.  I think their rainbow garden is just beautiful!

They also got to go "freestyle"!

This week in the sensory table, the children found frogs and lily pads!  They could try to catch the frogs with a net and then place them on a lily pad or just see if the frogs would sink or float.

I put out some frogs and lizards this week for the children to explore.

What is more fun than children with magnifying glasses?

On Friday, Ms. Bjorge's 4 year old class came to our room with books!  They were celebrating Earth Day and they all brought in a book to recycle.  They brought books for us!  Ms. Bjorge read a story to everyone and then our class got to explore all the wonderful books they left for us.  Everyone got to pick out a book.  It was great fun!  Harper's sister, Zoey, was in Ms Bjorge's class, that made it extra special!  And some of Ms. Bjorge's students, are some of my former students!

Have a great weekend!  Happy Earth Day!
