The week before last the children worked on making snowflakes.  They used water colors and pipettes to squeeze the paint on to coffee filters.  This is a great exercise for fine motor skills.
Once the filters dried, I cut them into snowflakes.  Some of the snowflakes went home in the backpacks and some we saved for our classroom.

On Monday, this week, the children painted snowmen, using "puffy" paint.  It is a mixture of glue and shaving creme.  We also added some glitter. ")  I offered to draw two circles to give them and idea of where to paint.  Some children decided they did not need the circles and that was OK.  The children were given items to finish off their snowmen, a top hat, carrot nose, eyes and buttons.  One student pointed out that we needed a mouth.  Very observant!

I added dump trucks and front loaders to the snow this week.  Made me think of my son in NYC!

Snowman in a baggie!

The children made a snowman snack! They were fun to make and yummy to eat!  They also had chocolate milk to go with them.

The children are making Valentines for Grandparent/Special Friends Day.

Have a great weekend!  See you Monday!
