These are the flowers the children painted last week!

On Monday, we read Flower Garden by Eve Bunting.  It is a story about a little girl that creates a flower garden to surprise her mother on her birthday.  The little girl and her father buy the plants at a grocery store and brings them home on the bus.  She lives in the city and had to climb stairs to get to her apartment.  It is a wonderful story with so many new things to teach the children about!

We made our own flower box garden. It takes a lot of dirt!  The children are very good about waiting their turn. :)

On Wednesday, the children made small terrariums. We cut a water bottled in half, added dirt, water and the top of a carrot.  We put the top of the bottle back on and now we are waiting to see if the carrots will sprout.  Hmm?

This month we will be learning about "What is in the garden".  We will explore flowers and bugs and other things that we might find in a garden.
The children started off the week with red circle prints to make lady bugs and painted their favorite color to make flowers.  This will help to make a beautiful bulletin board for our classroom.

The children found something new in the sensory table...."dirt".

Some bunny fun!  The children had a great week with everything Easter!

Dying Easter eggs takes a lot of concentration and patience.

The Easter Egg Hunt was fun and went quickly!  I was lucky to get a few photos. Thank you Nika's mom and Greta's mom for doing such a good job hiding the eggs. :)

I pray you have a Blessed Easter!

Last week, we finished up our unit on farm animals. I am always amazed with how their minds work! Look at the matching game someone made up!  I had out pictures of farm animals and they matched up some puzzle pieces. Too Cute!

More farm fun, sorting. (Early math skills)

This is a stained glass window project. They are using water colors and pipettes. (Fine motor skills)

Some fun in the sensory table.

Easter Egg Wreaths.
