This week the children have been working on Christmas decorations.  On Monday, they made Christmas lights with lots of glitter and they are currently hanging on a house on our bulletin board.  I will be sure to take a picture for you to see.  Eventually they will come home and you can hang them on your Christmas tree!

The children were also busy working on a surprise.  We'll just leave it at that!  Shhhh,,,

On Friday, the children worked on making Christmas wreaths.  Green glue, shredded paper and pom poms!

I have added some Christmas activities to the classroom .....

They are always busy doing something!

Mrs. Booze and some of the children are trying to catch a HUGE lizard that came into our room, when the door opened.  I was amazed at how eager some of them were to catch it.  Not me!

We've had another birthday! It was a hit!  Happy Birthday Finn!

I can't tell you how much fun I have with your children every week!  What a joy!

As always, thanks Mrs Booze for all your help!

The week before our Thanksgiving break, we explored some of the food that we might eat at Thanksgiving.  Monday, was Pumpkin Pie Day!  The children made their own pumpkin pies by crumbling up some graham crackers and then they made pumpkin spice pudding to go on top.  I'd say the reviews were mixed on who actually liked the pie, but they had fun making them.

The children made beautiful fall trees.

On Wednesday, the children snapped green beans. This was definitely a new experience for some of the children but they caught on pretty quick. The directions were to "snap" off the end of the bean, the stalk, were it grew from the vine and then snap the beans again into smaller pieces.
I put them on the stove to cook and they were ready for us to taste by the end of the morning.

The children had a great day with Mrs. Booze on Friday. I was attending the National Early Childhood Conference in Orlando from Wednesday through Friday.  Such a great opportunity for me! There were over 10,000 early childhood educators in attendance over 5 days.  I was able to listen to high quality, national speakers, children book authors and presenters.  I am so thankful that the school sent me!

I hope that all of you had a wonderful Thanksgiving!  See you Monday!

We started off last week with a play put on by Timeless Tales Theatre, Tom Turkey.  It was great, as usual.  It was about the pilgrims coming to a new land and the friends they made when they got here and of course about a turkey.  They children always seem to enjoy these shows.

Finger painting turkey tale feathers...

The children also worked on a fall picture this week.  They were given red, yellow and a bit of green paint and 3 different tools, two spools and a cork.  They glued a tree trunk to a piece of paper and then "printed" leaves on it.  It was interesting to watch the different techniques.

Some classroom fun...

This week the children will be making pumpkin spice pudding and they will be snapping green beans! Maybe they could help you with Thanksgiving dinner?
